Wotcher, m’dears! Since it’s a lovely Wednesday afternoon, I have some foodie jokes for you all.
Jack: Would you like some Egyptian pie?
Jill: What Egyptian pie?
Jack: You know, the one that mummy used to make!
What starts with “t”, ends with “t”, and is filled with “t”?
It’s called “fast food” because you’re supposed to eat it really fast. Otherwise, you might actually taste it.
And always remember, “stressed” spelled backwards is “desserts”!
Aren’t we just a couple o’ hams?!
Lunch today was a hurried ordeal. I had boogied to the gym for a quick run and some weight-lifting after my morning class, showered super quickly (which in Jennyland means a lot since I’m notorious for long showers), and threw together a lunch from leftover salad and leftover eggplant parm.
I confess. I couldn’t actually finish my salad from last night because it was just TOO big. Plus, C and I had plans to go get froyo, so I had to get my priorities in line and make sure I had enough room for dessert!
In the wise words of my lovely roomie, K, “Froyo is Jenny’s number one food group.” Amen, sista, amen.
And of course, I was craving something cool for dessert (the weather has been really warm lately… almost Florida-esque. Blech!), and served myself a hefty portion of Eat Right vanilla ice cream with sugar-free hot fudge and frozen berries.
Guys, don’t be fooled by my petite frame. I am a bottomless pit when it comes to eating. Either that, or I just don’t know my limits for making and consuming food.
I may or may not have tried out another one of Chocolate-Covered Katie’s recipes, this time for Healthy Brownie Batter Dip!
I’m a bit of a recipe-phobe so I didn’t follow the recipe exactly. Plagiarism? Nah. Source cited and paraphrased!
- 1 can of garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 4 tbsp nonfat plain yogurt
- 1 tbsp peanut butter
- 1/2 frozen banana (not pictured)
- 1/8 tsp salt
Blend together until smooth.
So the consistency wasn’t as nice as my attempt at cookie dough dip (which I still have mouthwatering fantasies about…), and resembled more of a pudding of sorts…
But I tossed the container into the freezer, and have great plans for it tonight. JUST WAIT AND SEE!
